It’s bold tannins provide great structure and balances elegantly the wine’s dark fruit and stewed plum characteristics.
Considered the bold and brawny sibling to our other Palmaz wines, the Brasas Cabernet steaks its claim - pun intended - directly next to the grill. The 2019 vintage, however, brought an added note of elegance and grace to this normally edgy blend. A wet spring prompted a delayed bud break and a late harvest; allowing for more traditional Bordeaux style characteristics to shine.
The 2018 vintage of Palmaz Cabernet wines has been noteworthy, the Brasas Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception. Like the gaucho y caballo it personifies, the wine is elegant yet brawny. Cassis and huckleberry leap from the glass as aromas of mesquite and sawdust swirl in the air like the gaucho’s boleador - or lasso.
If the beautiful deep purple color of this wine doesn’t make you stop in your tracks, the aromatic “Hello” will; bright fruit notes literally jump out of the glass. Ripe, dark berries and elements of smoked wood completely coat the palate upon first sip.

The 2015 Brasas Cabernet greets you with aromas of warm butterscotch and charred wood. With bold but silky tannins, it’s a wine that is sure to cellar well. Typical of a Palmaz Cabernet, the wine will reward you for the time spent in the cellar.

In 2013, Brasas features vibrant aromas of blackberry with a foundation of firm red clay. The tannins are powerful yet well polished, with a smooth refreshing finish.
The soulmate of the 2012 Brasas Cabernet Sauvignon blend is the grill itself. Its aromas of fresh pink peppercorns and mulberries combine beautifully with a balance of savory spice and ripe fresh fruit.
