The 2018 vintage of Palmaz Cabernet wines has been noteworthy, the Brasas Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception. Like the gaucho y caballo it personifies, the wine is elegant yet brawny. Cassis and huckleberry leap from the glass as aromas of mesquite and sawdust swirl in the air like the gaucho’s boleador - or lasso. The aromatics transition seamlessly to the palate. Its dark fruit and wood characteristics balance gracefully with raw, earthy tannins. The wine’s bold entrance is followed by a lingering and triumphant finish - much like our gaucho riding off into the sunset over the endless plains. Although stunning now, this wine will continue to age over the next 10 years.
